Building a revenue engine for an AI data services company
Client: A mid-market AI data services provider with a 3,500+ person workforce: full-time employees plus human-in-the-loop contributors and evaluators. The company specializes in data annotation, reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF), safety red teaming and localizing large language models, and holds active ISO/IEC certifications for information security management and AI systems.
The problem
The company relied on two clients for its business. That kind of concentration leaves any company exposed: if either client cuts back or walks away, a large share of revenue goes with it. There was no repeatable way to find, open and grow new accounts.
What we did
- Built a revenue engine so new business no longer depended on two relationships
- Automated manual processes so the team could spend its time on clients and growth
- Identified the right partners and ran the partnerships
- Opened new accounts through warm introductions
The outcome
The company moved from depending on two clients to new accounts and partner relationships, with a repeatable way to keep growing.
